Seychelles

This emerald-tinged and Eden-like archipelago, made up of 115 enchanting islands, is unrivalled for blissfully romantic retreats, secret hideaways and family-friendly adventures. Then there are catamaran cruises, snorkelling and sea kayaking to die for - but best hop to it, as the ideal way to experience its varying landscapes is by combining two or more islands.

Seychelles also promises stunning flora, jungle-clad mountains, dramatic peaks, exceptional national parks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, plus exotic Creole cuisine and traditions and a slow-paced, sleepy way of life that is both deliberate and decadent.

Live the dream...

Mahe is the largest island and Beau Vallon beach is world famous, but it still offers deserted palm-lined coves and hidden bays – and the dramatic Morne Seychellois Natural Park with its Jellyfish trees and carnivorous Pitcher Plant. The coastline of nearby Silhouette remains relatively untouched, while the iconic mist and forest covered peak of Mount Dauban towers in the distance.

Praslin Island boasts Anse Lazio, recently voted in the top 10 beaches in the world, and for those that like it wilder, some gloriously isolated islands for private snorkelling and swimming. Colonial La Digue offers secluded and remote beaches beautifully preserved and protected from development, while a trip to Curieuse Island sees giant Aldabra tortoises wandering freely.
